Department of Fashion Technology organized SARTORIA 2K18-19 Departmental Symposium on 25th September 2018. Dr. G. Gunasekaran, HOD/FT, welcomed the gathering and delivered the falicitational address. The programme was inaugurated by PMJF LION. S. Sethuk Kumar, Managing Director, Sethman Exports, Karur. In his inaugural address, he disseminated about the skills and knowledge to be acquired by the students to get better opportunities in their career. He also motivated the students through some lively examples of day-to-day life. He also added the job opportunities available especially in export oriented units in Karur and Tirupur. In the function synthetic materials such as flex boards, PET bottles are totally avoided by including pot containers, eco – pens made out of banana leaf, TNPL papers, paper folders, etc. to make the function purely an eco-friendly. Various competitions like, paper, poster presentation, adobe illustrator, Technical Quiz, Surface Ornamentation were organized for the students. The prize winners were given trophies, cash prizes worth Rs 30,000 with a certificate. Around 350 participants attended the program.
