On February 27, 2022, 40 NSS volunteers from Sona College of Technology volunteered to assist officials from the Government Primary Health Care Center Old Suramangalam, Mariamman Kovil Street, Aandipatty, Kamanaickenpatty, Reddipatty, Solampallam, Ariyakoundampatty, Kaliamman Kovil Nagar, Kumaran Street and sivadhapuram in the implementation of the Pulse Polio programme.

Pulse Polio is an immunisation campaign launched by the Indian government to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio) in India by immunising all children under the age of five against the polio virus. The project combats poliomyelitis through a large-scale pulse vaccination programme and polio case monitoring.
