National Science day is celebrated all over India every year to commemorate the discovery of Raman effect by the Nobel laureate Sir C.V. Raman. This year, we have celebrated Science day 2018 celebrations in our campus in a great manner on March 8th. We invited Dr. A. Ramasubbu, Professor, Department of chemistry, Government Arts College (Autonomous), Coimbatore as the chief guest and Dr. V. S. Venkatavaradhan, Former Director, Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai and former Head of Science, Sona college of technology as a guest. DR. A. Ramasubbu delivered science motivational speech about the pro and cons of nanotechnology to the students. Alumnus address was delivered by Mr. J. Nishanth. He spoke about his experiences and achievements. His talk was an inspiration to all the students. Special address was delivered by the Principal Dr. S.R.R. Senthil Kumar. Dr. C. Shanthi delivered the welcome address. Director Academics Dr. C.V. Koushik, Senior Dean ICE Dr. M. Usha and Dr. M. Renuga felicitated the gathering. In order to elevate student’s engineering skills and scientific thinking, several events like just a minute (JAM), multimedia, science quiz, oratorical competition, science working model, science paintings, debugging in C and paper presentation were conducted. All the first year students were involved in most of the events.
