On 26th January 2022, 73rd Republic Day celebration was held in Sona College ground. Our NSS wing participated in Republic Day. Around 14 volunteers took part in the Republic Day parade. The Republic Day was opened with a flag hoist by Thiru Thyagu Valliappa, Vice – Chairman, Sona Group of Institutions addressing the gathering. Our honorable principals, members of the faculty and students were delighted with their wise words for the occasion. The celebration ended with the proper steps for pandemic protection.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi is scheduled to pay homage to the martyrs of the war at the National War Memorial while at the same time 5000 martyrs from all over India are scheduled to wear garlands for photography by the National Student Force.

The event was organized by the Coimbatore Group under the name “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Shakeedi Ko Sat Sat Nama” for 11 Tamil Nadu Battalions in Salem.

SEA A. Kapilan from Attur, Salem district, a veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war who served in the Indian Navy was paid homage by the Vice Chairman of the Sona Group of Institutions, Mr. Thyagu Valliappa. During the function, NCC officials and students were also present.
