Vision

SONA-REACH is a premier research centre, focussing on textile, garment and fashion related research works, through a fostered R & D activities and strong industry linkage and also empowering the rural, needy society through skill development trainings in the area of garment making and fashion designing in collaboration with the national organisations under corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Objectives
  • To foster the research and development activities of the development through faculty and students.
  • To carry out industry-oriented, design and development project works through strong and wide-spread industry linkages taking into account, the social accountability.
  • To explore and develop novel materials, technologies, and design methodologies that integrate fashion and technology, with the aim of creating innovative and functional wearable products that enhance personal expression, comfort, and performance while reducing environmental impact.
  • To explore the use of smart textiles and wearable sensors to develop garments that respond to environmental stimuli, monitor physiological data, and enhance user experience and safety.
  • To encourage and facilitate inter-disciplinary research project works by having cordial relation and understanding with the other departments.
  • To join hands with SONA-CSRI for a noble cause of corporate social responsibility through the empowerment of differently-abled, rural women by providing skill up gradation trainings in the area of garment making and fashion designing in collaboration with the national agencies like SAIL (Salem Steel Plant), JSW and SRF, etc.
